An important piece of our pedagogy is our emphasis on collaborative learning. Our extensive research shows peer-to-peer instruction and discussion is critical to student learning. It helps internalize concepts and creates a natural fluency with academic vocabulary when students use it with each other.
During the webinar, Abbey and Brittany shared some ideas for digitizing the T-Graph to promote social skills of teamwork and collaboration during distance learning. Click here for some additional tips and tools for the T-Graph and Team Tasks.
Jamboard
Brittany demonstrated using Jamboard as a platform for building an online T-Graph with students. Jamboard is a free Google app used to create collaborative digital whiteboards that can be shared with colleagues and students. This video gives additional support for using Jamboard and Chrome Canvas.
Padlet
Padlet can be used by students and teachers as an online bulletin board or graffiti wall. We used Padlet to share some of our Gots and Wants from the webinar. If you would like to post a photo, Bitmoji, or comment to our grid, click here to get started.
